The Wrathful Padmasambhava Five-Pronged Vajra from the Pala Dynasty was auctioned a few years ago for over 2.7 million yuan, demonstrating its immense value.
This vajra is meticulously crafted based on the original artifact, after extensive research and consultation with Chinese collectors. It underwent over 40 modifications before reaching its final version.
From the initial concept to the final design, it took more than five years to complete.
The entire vajra is made of bronze, with a copper content of about 95%.
The overall design is powerful, dynamic, and aesthetically refined, showcasing wisdom within limited space.
- The central prong is strong and firm, with Makara (mythical crocodile-like creatures) in the form of dragons, having long, curled snouts, giving them a mighty and fierce appearance.
- The Makara's texture has been deepened, while avoiding excessive human-made alterations.
- A unique feature of this vajra is the eight wrathful faces in the Pala style, positioned beneath the lotus petals, all of which have been meticulously refined.
The open-mouthed wrathful vajra represents Padmasambhava’s Iron Scorpion—unstoppable and indestructible.
